Indian Tea Buyers Seek Further Govt Concessions

With the tea exports having been hit by the appreciation of Indian rupee against US dollar, the Tea Buyers Association here has asked the government to provide further concessions to the sector as those given by the Commerce Ministry were "inadequate".

Besides, the high interest rates and increase in ocean freight has made south Indian tea costlier by 10-15 per cent in the International markets, the association said in a press release here. .
